Hey there! We are Matt and Hayden Vandeberg, and are the faces behind Magpie Ranch Co. We work on the family ranch outside of Roundup, Montana. We both were raised in rural and agricultural communities, and know what it means to have quality local food. Now that we raise our own animals, we are passionate about bringing nutritious food to people who may not be able to raise their own. We raise our own animals and sell directly to the customer, in support of a simpler system that benefits our environment.
We both attended Montana State University Bozeman, where we met in 2016. Graduating in 2017, Matt received his bachelors degree in Livestock Management while Hayden received her bachelors degree in Rangeland Management. We brought our passions for animal husbandry and rangeland health back to central Montana.
Alongside attending to ranch duties, we enjoy going for an evening ride on their horses, hiking in the backwoods and furthering our knowledge about being good stewards of the land. What we do everyday isn’t a “job” but rather a way of life. A life that we wouldn’t trade anything for!
